Stained Glass Class Waiver & Safety Agreement

All participants in classes at Kraken Glass Studios are required to read and agree to this Safety Agreement and Liability Waiver form before participating. Students must follow all safety instructions provided by the instructor.

Safety in the Stained Glass Studio

For the safety of all students and instructors, I agree to follow these studio rules:

  1. I will wear safety glasses when cutting glass, grinding, soldering, or using studio equipment as instructed.

  2. I will keep long hair tied back and secured away from my face and work area.

  3. I will not wear loose clothing, dangling jewelry, or other items that could interfere with safe use of tools or equipment.

  4. I will wear appropriate clothing made primarily of natural fibers when working with heat, soldering equipment, and other studio materials.

  5. I will wear closed-toe and closed-heel shoes at all times in the studio. Flip-flops, sandals, clogs, and other open footwear are not permitted.

  6. I will wear long pants or other appropriate leg protection during class.

  7. I will not operate studio equipment or tools without instruction and authorization from the instructor.

  8. I will follow all verbal and written safety instructions provided by the instructor during the class at Kraken Glass Studios.

  9. I understand that stained glass work involves inherent risks, including cuts from glass, burns, exposure to sharp tools, hot equipment, soldering materials, and other hazards associated with working in a glass studio.

  10. I understand that I am responsible for informing the instructor of any condition or circumstance that may affect my ability to safely participate in the class. If I am pregnant or have concerns about exposure to lead, solder, chemicals, fumes, or other studio materials, I understand that I should consult an appropriate healthcare professional before participating.

Additional Studio Time

Kraken Glass Studios classes are designed to provide sufficient time for students to complete their projects within the scheduled class session or course.

If I miss a class or require additional time to complete a project, additional supervised studio time may be available at the instructor's discretion and based on studio availability. Additional studio time is currently $15 per hour and must be scheduled in advance. Availability is not guaranteed.

Liability Waiver & Assumption of Risk

In consideration of being permitted to participate in classes, workshops, open studio sessions, demonstrations, or other activities offered by Kraken Glass Studios, I voluntarily assume all risks associated with my participation.

I understand that stained glass and related studio activities involve inherent risks, including, but not limited to, cuts, burns, injuries caused by sharp or hot tools and materials, slips, falls, exposure to dust, fumes, soldering materials, and other risks associated with the use of glass, tools, equipment, and studio facilities.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I hereby release and hold harmless Kraken Glass Studios, its owners, instructors, employees, contractors, agents, representatives, successors, and assigns from claims, demands, actions, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses arising out of or relating to my participation in studio activities, including travel to or from Kraken Glass Studios or related events.

This release includes claims arising from ordinary negligence to the extent permitted by applicable law, but does not apply where liability cannot legally be waived.

I understand that I am responsible for my personal property and that Kraken Glass Studios is not responsible for loss of or damage to my personal belongings.

I confirm that I have read and understand the safety rules and this Liability Waiver. I voluntarily agree to participate and agree to be bound by its terms.
