Kraken Glass Studios is the creative stained glass studio of Jeanne Kysela, an architectural stained glass artist, craftsman, and instructor whose work explores the relationship between light, color, texture, and space.

Jeanne's artistic journey into stained glass began in 2008 in Siena, Italy, where she apprenticed with master Italian stained glass artists at Vetrate Artistiche Toscane. Over eight years, she returned regularly to study and refine the traditional techniques of the craft, developing expertise in glass painting, traditional lead came construction, restoration, and large-scale architectural design.

Rooted in centuries-old European traditions, Jeanne's work is deeply influenced by the way natural light transforms glass throughout the day. She is drawn to the subtle variations of color, texture, transparency, and reflection that make every piece of glass unique. Her work seeks to create moments of quiet beauty, allowing light to become an active part of the artwork itself.

Jeanne's stained glass has been created for private residences, houses of worship, and commercial spaces throughout Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey. Whether designing a custom architectural window, a small illuminated panel, or restoring a historic work of art, she approaches each project as an opportunity to explore the connection between art and place.

Her background in fine art and graphic design, combined with more than 20 years of creative experience, informs her approach to composition, color, proportion, and visual storytelling. She holds a B.F.A. in Fine Art and Graphic Design from The College of New Jersey and has twice received the James Whitney Scholarship from the American Glass Guild to study advanced glass painting techniques with master artists from the United States and Europe.

Jeanne continues to expand her artistic practice through ongoing study, experimentation, and collaboration. Her work brings together the discipline of traditional craftsmanship and the freedom of contemporary artistic expression, creating stained glass that is both rooted in history and distinctly personal.

Today, Jeanne continues to create custom architectural stained glass and restoration work in collaboration with Greg Stefan Studios, Philadelphia, combining classical European training with contemporary architectural stained glass, and her own personal artistic style.
